SAND (#829)

Ahoy,

so this is me entering the 198k scrobbles - with a bunch of new music. :)

Scrobble count:  198.116

Last week in covers:

Most played artists:

• Chromeo : New album context. "Adult Contemporary" seems disappointing to me, because hardly any track stands out - maybe "Lost And Found" as one highlight song. But that's it.

• Caravan Palace : Promotion context. I had the chance to listen to "Gangbusters Melody Club" early - but tbh it was just okay.

Most played tracks:

• Saba - SAND : Ooh, thanks to a Twitter/X user I got to know Denmarks Eurovision song of 2024 - and I think this is pop perfections. The singer is even able to sing it live.

• Delta Goodrem - Hearts On The Run : Wow, what a nice retro pop banger. It even has a nice music video now.

• Ikkimel - BIKINI GRELL : Yes, this dance track has a naughty vibe, but I like it somehow.

• Shaznay Lewis - Miracle : Long time no new tune by this artist and member of All Saints. This single sounds quite sophisticated. YouTube made me check out the previous single "Kiss of Life" as well, which also fits her style in a nice well. Her upcoming album "Pages" will be released on May 17.

Noteworthy:

• Giant Rooks : Fan times.
• Kim Petras : Again checking out some tracks from "Slut Pop Miami".

• Lady Gaga : Fan times.
• Sophie B. Hawkins : Fan times.

Lonely Dancers (#827)

Ahoy,

two of my favorite bands have released new music. So I was hyped...

Scrobble count:  197.742

Last week in covers:

Most played artists:

• Giant Rooks : Fan times plus new album context. "How Have You Been?" starts quite strong - but it also has not so catchy tracks - just like the previous album. But maybe the new music will grow on me. I was thinking of going to a concert, but I don't want to travel that much.
• Normandie : Fan times plus new album context. "Dopamine" left me a bit cold tbh. I don't know, if I can find any highlight tracks here. And I managed to pay not that much attention the the pre-released songs.
• Sarah Jarosz : Fan times.

Most played tracks:

• Conan Gray - Lonely Dancers : Wow, this track makes the artist shine - fully diving into the retro vibes of previous decades.

• Keith Urban - Straight Line : Consider me stunned, because I would have never thought to find a Keith Urban song making it into my playlist. But this one is really catchy - and more pop than country.
• The Vaccines - Heartbreak Kid : This track has grown on me.

Noteworthy:

• iamnotshane : Yes, the one track, that I have mentioned in a previous post.
• John Mayer : Fan times.
• Michelle Branch : I was revisiting some ballads of the past - in order to create a new playlist for tired times.

• Polar Mind : Yup, that came from one of my best of playlists - "The Stars Behind" sounds quite catchy.
