in a world full of sad news this little journal of mine brightens my day a little.
Last week in covers:
- Childish Gambino : New "release" (?) context. Well, it seems that "Donald Glover Presents" was just online for a few hours. But don't be sad. I did not like most of it anyway. ("03.15.20" is still on my list, though.)
- Pöbel MC : Fan times. Still finding my way to the new tracks on "Bildungsbürgerprolls".
- Porridge Radio : New album context. There was a very positive review that made me listening to all songs of "Every Bad" - but I did not like it at all. :(
- Lapsley : New album context. "Through Water" was a huge disappointment to me.
- Peter Bjorn and John : New album context. "Endless Dream" should make fans happy, but it's not that special, if you ask me.
Most played artists:
- Dua Lipa : New album context. I have to praise "Future Nostalgia" for its catchy tunes. Dua Lipa's second album might end on my best-of-2020 list with ease. Almost every track seems to grow on me.
- Lady Gaga : Celebration context. I was using her birthday on the weekend to re-visit my favorite tracks by her... and a bunch of music from "Born This Way", an album that deserved a better cover. :P
- The Slow Readers Club : New album context. "The Joy Of The Return" has amazed me.
- The Weeknd : Fan times. (You can expect this artist to appear here a few more times.)
Most played tracks:
- ROSALÍA - Dolerme : Wow. That's surprising. I guess this is the first ROSALÍA song, that gets me hooked. Let's see, if it will get a music video.
News?
█ Kygo made a song with Zara Larsson & Tyga, who are also featured in the music video for "Like It Is". The visuals come across quite basic. I think this track could actually grow on me.█ Ava Max's new music video for "Kings & Queens" confirms my impression, that she seems to push some kind of Lady Gaga buttons. But it's still a nice pop tune.
█ Looking at the German album charts ain't easy this week - say hello to Heaven Shall Burn ("Of Truth And Sacrifice") and Pietro Lombardi ("Lombardi") - at the top spots. The Weeknd ("After Hours") can be found at number 5, and Pöbel MC ("Bildungsbürgerprolls") at number 10.
New in the German charts:
[01] The Weeknd - Blinding Lights : 17th week and 8th number one spot. :)[02] Dardan - H<3tel (feat. Monet193) : Tbh I'm not sure, if I just can appreciate the good beat, or I should despise its lyrical content. :/
[10] Soolking - Hayati (feat. MERO) : I admit that the production seems high class, but the content still makes me cringe.
