Head High (#933)

Ahoy,

once more I was able to listen to some new releases... and I may have found another favorite song of the year.

The Neighbourhood : New album context. "(((((ultraSOUND)))))+" comes with a big track list, but it hardly has any standout tracks.
Seal : Flashback times. I revisited "7", which is one of his latest releases. But then I went to "6: Commitment", which has "If I'm Any Closer" as a wonderful album opener.
Charli xcx : After watching "Wuthering Heights" I needed to revisit her new album
Romano : New album context. The only track on "Körper", that I would recommend, is called "Polyesterherz", because that one has a nice vibe.
Alex Merton : Research context, because I missed "Visions", which sounds pretty solid - at least its first half.

Noteworthy:

Thirteen Senses : Flashback times. Man, how I loved "The Invitation" back then.
Jessie Ware : Thanks to a shuffle I was reminded of "The Kill" from her 2020 album "What's Your Pleasure?", which somehow grows on me.
U2 : New release context. Those few tracks on "Days Of Ash" could have used a decent producer... or remixes. Tbh I somehow gave up on this band. But it is alright, as they have enough wealth for the rest of their lives.

Ufo361 : New album context. It was pure curiosity, how much I would dislike his new tracks on "BEWARE". A special shoutout goes to "DAMN CUP". It's music like this, that makes artists like Ikkimel so important.
Don Toliver : New album context. Once more I can't understand American audiences, why "Octane" has become a chart topper. Most tracks did not convince me.
Lights : New album context. "A6EXTENDED" comes with quite nice pop tunes. I will check it out once more soon - in search for highlight tracks.
Charli XCX : New album context. Tbh "Wuthering Heights" has only a few solid pop tunes for me - but those do grow on me these days.

Enesi M. : Recommendation context. I was listening to "DYSTOPIA", which features an unusual sound. The track "Tu Wifey" has a nice vibe.
Michelle Branch : Flashback times. It must be ages since I was listening to "The Spirit Room". How time flies.

█ What a special time for Charli xcx, who not only releases a new album but also a mockumentary ("THE MOMENT") in cinemas. But tbh that film was a tough watch for me, because many parts seemed to boring.
