Lilith (#791)

Ahoy,

so this week I'm a bit more on time.

Scrobble count:  192.673

Last week in covers:

Most played artists:

• Arlo Parks : New album context. "My Soft Machine" is a very nice album, that may also turn some interested minds into fans. The "Apple Music Edition" comes with a few additional tracks - like a cover version of Sufjan Steven's "Mystery Of Love".

• Stray Kids : New album context. I'm sad to note that "5-STAR" once again shows, that this group feels kind of stuck in a certain signature sound, that could really use some more fresh ideas. Even some dance moves look like references to earlier songs. I'm not sure, if I will find a highlight on that new album.

• Sparks : New album context. "The Girl Is Crying In Her Latte" has 14 tracks, starts nice, but loses me at some point, when the sounds get annoying.

• Madonna : Fan times.
• SALÒ : New album context. "SUBJEKTIV BETRACHTET" is a solid collection of songs, except the last two maybe.

Most played tracks:

[nothing to highlight here]

Noteworthy:

• Metro Boomin : New release context. The new animation film "Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse" has just started its box office run very successfully and the soundtrack compilation has this artist's name written all over it. The first tracks are the strongest, if you ask me.

• Peter Fox : New album context. On "Love Songs" the artist continues to elaborate on his established sounds - so fans may be happy.

• Seal : Flashback times. It's been over 15 years since "System" was released - my favorite Seal album (thanks to producer Stuart Price).

• Lady Gaga : Fan times.

News

█ Halsey and SUGA (of BTS) teamed up once more - for the track "Lilith", which has the subtitle "Diablo IV Anthem". The music video seems dark and effective.

Billboard Hot 100 (USA) - week of June 10

【01】 Morgan Wallen - Last Night : I would say limited diversity on US radio stations might help to keep this mediocre country track this successful.

Viral Global Spotify Charts - week of June 01
